Shelby crossed the rainbow bridge this past weekend after an amazing 14-1/2 years of life and love.
Shelby was surrendered to B.O.N.E.S. from a hunter who knew she wasn't cut out for the hunting life. She was destined to be a couch potato and, boy, was she good at that!
While in foster, Shelby was discovered to have seizures. We were given the option to adopt a different dog through B.O.N.E.S., but something told us Shelby was for us.
She fought with seizures and recurring pneumonia for most of her life. Despite these health challenges, she was an amazing pup who loved bananas, peanut butter, and being a couch potato!
Of course, the true beagle in her never went away even though her colors faded. Sniffing and tracking animals was one of her joys up to her last days.
We are relieved that she is no longer in any pain but she left a giant hole in our hearts. We miss her so much!
Thank you, B.O.N.E.S., for helping us find the greatest couch potato beagle to have ever lived!
