Kaylee

Kaylee With the heaviest hearts, we said goodbye to our beloved Kaylee (formerly Bailey) on February 9, 2021.

She came to our home nearly 11 years ago, an almost-six-year-old owner-surrender from a lovely family who bravely recognized that they couldn't care for her any longer. Within a few weeks she adjusted to her new home with us, finding her place on our sofa and, of course, in our hearts.

We were newly married at the time and joked that she was our "marriage counselor" — how could we fight with sweet little Kaylee there to help us through!? With her laid-back friendliness and stubborn beagle charm she accompanied us on so many adventures, including the biggest adventure of all, the addition of two new "human puppies" to our pack. She approached them cautiously at first... but when she discovered they were an endless source of snacks she warmed up right away.

When we bought our first home we made sure it included a big yard for her to enjoy, and she found lots of bunny trails to sniff. She was a couch potato, snuggler, and the sweetest dog to the very end. We think she loved spending her final year with her pack snug at home with her. We will miss her profoundly.
