George

George 2007 was a sad year for me. I lost my husband Dave in June from cancer. He and our beagle Simon were very close. After Dave died, Simon got sick and he died in October.

This is when B.O.N.E.S. and George came into my life. I adopted George that year and we did everything together. I took him to doggy bed and breakfast, concerts in the park, and to work when I had to work late.

For nine years, he was my boy. George had some issues that brought some challenges, one being he could open the fridge. I had to buy a special lock to keep him out. This past April, George's quality of life went downhill. He had bladder issues and constant accidents and his back legs were giving out. I had to make the difficult decision to let him go. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I took him for one last ride and a trip to McDonald's. I will always remember my Georgie and B.O.N.E.S for my special guy.
