Golda came into our lives when she was selected from 78 beagles by her late alpha, Rumpole. His tail wagged and he picked her up by the neck and started carrying her to the car. She was quite small and timid. That attitude changed as soon as she arrived at her new home in Richmond where she began a 12 year career giving "orders" to all of us.
After Rumpole passed away, Tevye came into Golda's life, and she taught him everything he needed to know as a beagle. Later, they were joined by Motl, adopted from B.O.N.E.S.. Together, the trio was known as "Golda and the Beagle Boys."
Golda had the privilege of being "Miss November 2011" in the B.O.N.E.S. calendar. Thankfully, she is at peace after losing a valiant fight against cancer. Tevye, Motl and the humans will continue to think of her, remembering fondly all the fun times we had together.
