After a courageous six month battle with an untreatable melanoma, our little Alleybear was allowed to go to her rest on Friday, September 18, 2009.
A sickly little six week old puppy mill beagle, Alex was the prototypical alpha female, who quickly established herself as queen of our pack, and our lives.
As a surrogate mother to some two dozen foster beagles over the years, none ever challenged her leadership.
Our grief may decrease with time; her dignity and bravery those last months will stay with us forever.
