Dear JJ,
You stole our hearts with your puppy love and kisses. Your physical healing from all the abuse was fast and easy. Not so the emotional scars of your early months.
We had 9 months of wonderful times with you. You made us laugh and brought us tremendous joy. We did what we could to overcome the effects of your early experiences but we never realized the extent of your emotional scars.
Bess was your best beagle teacher, and she misses you most.
We know that you are in a safe place now, where no one can ever hurt you again. We know that you did not mean to hurt and did not even know what you had done. We know that you love us and would have stayed with us if you could.
JJ, we love you and miss you terribly. Stay safe, sweet boy, we know you are around.
