Fenway Baratta

Fenway Baratta Dear B.O.N.E.S. family,

It is not right that pets do not get to live as long as their humans. Our B.O.N.E.S. beagle, Fenway, (originally Bart), adopted my then 10-year-old son and me in November 2009, and crossed peacefully over the rainbow bridge on July 12, 2020. In between was a true love story.

We met him and his B.O.N.E.S. rescuer in Concord, NH, halfway between Vermont, where he was a discarded hunting dog found injured on the side of a rural road, and Boston, where he was transported to an unfamiliar world. We changed his life, and he changed ours.

Fenway BarattaFenway was a sweet, loyal, and gentle soul. For a hound, he seldom barked, and walked peacefully through life. He had a sixth sense for kids and adults in need of comfort. He would dance for roast chicken. He preferred to sleep at the nape of his human's back. His thumping tail always greeted us at the door. He was a champion snorer. He had deep brown eyes that radiated love and melted our hearts. He made our small family feel so much bigger – and complete.

Thank you, B.O.N.E.S., for being Fenway's pathway to us. Our time with him was a true gift.

The Baratta Family (Christine and Andrew)
