Hudson, the Semi-Beagle Hudson was rescued by B.O.N.E.S. from a bad situation in Limington, ME. After the gentleman called 911 (and subsequently passed away), the local ACO found 20 dogs living in squalid conditions. B.O.N.E.S. took most of them and found them new homes. Overall, Hudson was in very good shape but when he had his physical, they found a serious mast cell tumor in his nose. As much as possible was removed. B.O.N.E.S. wanted to find a wonderful home for Hudson and we did. John is a long-haul trucker that had lost his beagle companion of 13 years. He wanted a new companion. Luckily John found Hudson (or Hudson found John). It was a wonderful match. Hudson reported in regularly, and we share his "Chronicles" on this page.

Hudson's Chronicles - February, 2015 Good morning from El Paso, TX. John and I are waiting for some repairs on the truck to be finished, so we had to get a room overnight. It's nice to get out of the truck once in a while. The rooms have soooo many smells in them that it's like I died and went to heaven! It's probably better off that you humans don't have my sense of smell, otherwise, you would never stay in another motel. I'm just saying...

Since my last update, we were on our way out to California. It was the last time that John could go out there, since his truck is too old to pass California's emission laws. We spent Christmas week in Bakersfield, after unloading in Oxnard. John decided to stay out over Christmas, and New Year's, since just about all the family was able to get together in Virginia for Thanksgiving.

There were a lot of folks in Virginia. It was crowded and hectic, but fun. The only wrinkle was that John's mom fell and broke her hip. That put a damper on things for sure. Things were so hectic, that I had to fend for myself at times and get my own water. Luckily, I'm a survivor!

Hudson's Chronicles - February, 2015The Monday after Christmas, John found a great paying load from Bakersfield to Oklahoma City, OK. It was a nice way to end our travels to California.

After delivering on New Year's Eve, we spent the rest of the week in Oklahoma City. The following Monday, John found a load down in Dallas and another partial to go with it in Chattanooga, TN. The Dallas load was going to Warwick, RI and the Chattanooga load went to Stockertown, PA. When we got to the delivery in Stockertown, I got the chance to make some new friends. Boy, did they smell! I would have loved to climb over the fence and put my nose to work, but the leash foiled those plans!

Hudson's Chronicles - February, 2015We made our delivery in RI and finally made it home after six weeks on the road. John and I went over to our friends for a late Christmas dinner, and had a good time as usual. Until now, their two new cats have ignored me. Now they're starting to give me a split second of acknowledgment before completely ignoring me, so I think things are good between us. I just wish they would share their food. They don't even seem to notice my poor, pathetic eyes. Oh well, I'll just have to keep trying.

It's time to check out and go see how the repairs are going on the truck. That's all for now.

Hudson, the semi-beagle.
