Hudson was rescued by B.O.N.E.S. from a bad situation in Limington, ME. After the gentleman called 911 (and subsequently passed away), the local ACO found 20 dogs living in squalid conditions.
B.O.N.E.S. took most of them and found them new homes. Overall, Hudson was in very good shape but when he had his physical, they found a serious mast cell tumor in his nose. As much as possible was removed.
B.O.N.E.S. wanted to find a wonderful home for Hudson and we did. John is a long-haul trucker that had lost his beagle companion of 13 years. He wanted a new companion. Luckily John found Hudson (or Hudson found John). It was a wonderful match. Hudson reported in regularly, and we share his "Chronicles" on this page.
Greetings and salutations from the Magic Kingdom here in Orlando, FL. We had a rear axle fail yesterday and had to be towed to a Peterbilt shop and are waiting to find out what needs to be done. It looks like we will be down for a good part of the week.
We have been pretty busy for the last several weeks and even had the chance to attend some drag races in Epping, New Hampshire a couple of weekends ago. John went last year with some friends and this year he ordered tickets, just in case he was around. As it turned out, the week before the races he got a call about a load loading in Auburn, ME going to Pittsburg, and then reloading at the same location in Pittsburg going to Brentwood, NH. Brentwood is the town next Epping. John was able to drop the trailer where we unloaded and it was only two miles to the track! We met up with his friend Bob and his family who had brought their camper there and so we hung out at the camper and went down to the track during the day and then went back to the truck at night. We didn't have to worry about traffic at all. (The races went from Friday through Sunday).
Bob's brother-in-law and son were racing that weekend as well, so it was a lot of fun to cheer them on.
Bob's daughter and son-in-law came up for the day on Saturday and they brought their little girl. She and I got along well, although she kept trying to give me kisses. After a while, it got kind of old. I guess that's why John is leading the carefree single life. Wait a minute...let's remember who I'm talking about here. Who would want to go around kissing John?!?!
After the races, we headed down to Maryland where we loaded a tank headed for Sunrise, FL. We unloaded on Thursday, and were headed up to Sanford to reload, when the rear axle started making all the grinding, clunking noises.
That's about all the news for now.
Hudson, the semi-beagle.
