Hudson was rescued by B.O.N.E.S. from a bad situation in Limington, ME. After the gentleman called 911 (and subsequently passed away), the local ACO found 20 dogs living in squalid conditions.
B.O.N.E.S. took most of them and found them new homes. Overall, Hudson was in very good shape but when he had his physical, they found a serious mast cell tumor in his nose. As much as possible was removed.
B.O.N.E.S. wanted to find a wonderful home for Hudson and we did. John is a long-haul trucker that had lost his beagle companion of 13 years. He wanted a new companion. Luckily John found Hudson (or Hudson found John). It was a wonderful match. Hudson reported in regularly, and we share his "Chronicles" on this page.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I didn't. Not a single scrap of Turkey! I hope Christmas makes up for that. Enough of my ranting. I guess I'm supposed to be getting into the holiday cheer.
We have been staying close to home the past couple weeks. John's mother fell at home and broke her ankle. She had to have surgery and is now in a rehab center until her ankle heals. They allow pets at the center, so I have been able to go visit with John. The people there are great. They always say hi when they stop in to check on John's mom. One aid even brings me little cups of peanut butter whenever she stops in. I have made lots of friends there. After all, I am a beagle. I was there when lunch was served one day and I tried to score some food. Everyone thought I was being so angelic and precious. Little did they know, that was the furthest thing from my mind. Alas, no food. Can I be losing my touch?
John's sister called him the other day with some exciting news about me. I found out that there is something I like more than treats, coffee, and beer. Fame! His sister was shopping recently and saw a gentleman with a beagle in the store. They struck up a conservation, and when she mentioned John and me, his face lit right up and he knew all about us! He got his beagle from B.O.N.E.S. and as a result, stumbled upon the chronicles. So here's what you humans call a shout out. Thanks for giving one of us a much need home!
We had some excitement a few weeks ago at the tire shop. John was getting the tires rotated and they had finished on the 8 drive tires on back. The Tire guy jacked up the front axle and was going to start on the steer tires. He had just finished jacking up the passenger side and had just crawled out from underneath the truck, when the drivers side jack shifted and fell over. all of a sudden there was a crash, and the truck was sitting on it's brake drum. We scratched our heads for a few minutes and figured a way to get the truck off the ground. Fortunately, the damage was minimal. You get that on the big jobs, as one of John's friend say's about things like that.
John and I are heading back down to Kittery for a couple days to visit with his mo, and then we are going to Rhode Island to pick up a load of machinery going to Arkansas.
That's all for now.
Hudson, the semi-beagle
