HAPPY ENDINGS

Beagles of New England States (B.O.N.E.S.) was founded in June of 2003 with a mission to rescue, rehome, spay/neuter, and provide necessary medical care to beagles in need in the New England area. We endeavor to improve the quality of life for beagles in New England through outreach and education programs.

Since inception, B.O.N.E.S. has rescued more than 1,785 beagles
that were surrendered, abandoned, neglected, abused or used for laboratory testing, and found loving, adoptive homes for them throughout the New England area!

Additionally, the Sensational Senior Beagle Program was established to provide senior dogs
a home with a "supported adoption" for their remaining years.

We can only continue to rescue beagles with your help. Please click here to make your donation.

The story below is just one of the happy endings made possible by
our dedicated team of volunteers and the generous donations of supporters like you...

Finn

FinnFinnegan ("Finn") was found living on his own in a cemetery. He had been on the run for over a month before the local Animal Control Officer was able to capture him. The caring ACO kept Finn safe and nurtured him until he was able to trust people again. Once Finn was ready, she contacted B.O.N.E.S. for foster care.

Finn also had a medical condition commonly referred to as "cherry eye" and needed surgery to repair both eyes. B.O.N.E.S. was able to make that happen for Finn. He recovered beautifully from the surgery and blossomed in foster care. Finn thrived so much in foster care that his foster family officially adopted him. He now lives the good life with two human parents and three other Beagle siblings.

Nina & Oscar

Nina & OscarNina and Oscar were found early one morning by a kind woman who heard them crying. She tried tirelessly to find their owner, but it soon became apparent they had been abandoned. A volunteer from B.O.N.E.S. was contacted, and she graciously agreed to foster Nina and Oscar until they could be adopted out together.

At the same time, another family that volunteers with B.O.N.E.S. was looking to adopt an adult Beagle. Several people suggested Nina and Oscar. Although they weren’t looking to add TWO more Beagles to their family (they already had three!), they couldn’t bear to separate the tightly-bonded pair. Nina and Oscar were lucky to be placed together and are now enjoying life on a farm with their devoted, Beagle-loving family.

Heidi

HeidiHeidi was rescued from an abusive and neglectful situation. When she was discovered by a local rescue group, she weighed 120 pounds and could barely move. With proper diet and exercise, the rescue helped Heidi drop 40 pounds before contacting B.O.N.E.S. for foster care.

HeidiHeidi thrived in B.O.N.E.S. foster care and especially enjoyed playing with her foster Beagle brothers. She lost another 25 pounds with the help of her devoted foster family, and is now enjoying a wonderful new life with her forever family.
