Sebastian

Sebastian Sebastian the beagle came to me as a 1.5 year old puppy former hunting dog, his owner had passed away. To look at Sebastian he is a beagle!! He came to me as a foster with no inside manners and pneumonia. B.O.N.E.S. took care of the vet and we nursed Sebastian back to health and went to work teaching him inside manners. In December of 2011 he went to his "Forever Home" and left a huge hole in my house (after just having him for 2 months) Well Sebastian had a little more energy and required a little more time than his new family was able to give him so he came back to me. There was no thought required, Sebastian had found his forever home with me and his older (by a year) beagle sister, Maggie.

If you weren't paying attention Sebastian was the perfect escape artist. He could go from a sound sleep on the chair to standing in the middle of the front yard staring back at you leaving you scratching your head wondering how he even knew you opened the door.

It has now been a year since I adopted this beautiful beagle boy and with our obedience classes and consistent leadership training and our everyday routine he has become a great companion. He doesn't bolt outside anymore, he loves his walks and still gets very excited when he picks up a scent and will bark to let me know we must follow it.

He has the most amazing personality. He loves to go camping, LOVES water and won't think twice about going for a swim, no prodding needed!! He loves kids and loves to play with my niece and nephew and just bury himself between them looking for attention.

All in all Sebastian stole my heart and has become part of the family. I cannot imagine not having him in my life. Watching his personality develop over the past year has just been amazing. Being able to rescue a dog and know you're giving him/her a great life is wonderful!!
