We love to hear from stories from our adopters! Each one of these beagles touches our lives in a special way - hearing the "Happy Tails" makes everything we do worthwhile! Below are just a few examples of some of our happy beagle tails!
Read all of the Happy Tails by paging through them below (stories are listed from newest to oldest) or click on a name to go to a specific article.
Do you have your own Happy Tail story about adopting a B.O.N.E.S. beagle that you'd like to share? Please send it, along with any pictures, to happytails@bonesbeagles.org.
Well, you have never seen a happier dog then EllieMae. She loves the property and spends hours walking through the beds and bushes and chasing frogs along the edge of the little pond. Sometimes Cassie joins her...and they make lots of noise, especially when they get the scent of a rabbit or squirrel. Ellie Mae actually is smiling all the time. And, of course, gets lots of hugs, pets and kisses.
EllieMae and Cassie get along. They don't play together but they are definitely companions. Cassie, though smaller, is decidedly the alpha dog...but very tolerant. And EllieMae still has her little quirks. Although housebroken, she must be outside when the men mow the lawn. She gets so upset at them that she pees on the carpet. One good note is that she really has taken to my godson and is now accustomed to my neighbor Neil.
Ellie raced up the stairs once too often and took a tumble. So, now she will not go upstairs. Her evening bed is the antique sofa in the sitting room. I've covered it with a comforter and 2 flannel sheets. It is "her" resting spot. At night I sit with her on the sofa and pet her and wish her a good night's sleep...as if she were a little child. She loves this attention. Funny, however, I once caught Cassie sleeping there. What an alpha hoot Cassie is! Ellie knows all the routines and is so comfortable here. What a sweetheart she is.
Thank you to B.O.N.E.S. for rescuing both dogs and allowing them to be adopted by me. I love them both so very much.
