Hi, I'm Herbert, and my tail is always wagging. No, I don't get tired from wagging my tail so much... it just shows how happy I am. I am very loving. Toys and people are awesome, and other dogs are even better. I can sometimes be shy, but with another dog around, I have much more confidence. Come on, let's go and play with my toys!

I'm already crate trained and walk very nicely on my leash. I am also making really good progress with house training...I will have that down in no time. I enjoy car rides as long as I am in my crate. Actually, I should always wear a harness as well. You see, I am energetic and can move very quickly. I also get fearful on many sights, sounds, and smells... it can sure be overwhelming. My first instinct in those situations is to run, so I have been labeled a "flight risk."

Now that I think of it, there are quite a few things that frighten me, such as loud noises, visitors, loud male voices, strangers, and dropped objects. I guess I'll need lots of patience and reassurance so that I can become more confident.

I may not be the bravest beagle in the bunch, but I sure am lovable. I really enjoy spending time on the couch and getting lots of pets and love. And one of my favorite things to do is play with my puzzle toys. They are fun, and I get kibble out of them, too!

I am finding that once I get used to things that are scary, they are not so bad after all. I am eager to find my forever family so they can help to teach me about all kinds of new things.

If you are patient, gentle, soft-spoken and have at least one other canine in the house, you may just be the perfect human for me. I am looking forward to meeting you and finally having a family of my very own.
