We love to hear from stories from our adopters!
Each one of these beagles touches our lives in a special way -
hearing the "Happy Tails" makes everything we do worthwhile!
Below are just a few examples of some of our happy beagle tails!

Bailey

To everyone at BONES,

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for bringing Bailey in to our lives! He has only been here two weeks but already it feels as if he has been a part of our little family forever! We just love him so much. Growing up I always had dogs but Kevin did not and always wanted one. You realize how much they make a house a home once you bring one in to the family again!

Bailey is just a happy little guy who's tail is always wagging! He loves to go for walks around our neighborhood, which is a very dog-friendly neighborhood, so he has lots of canine friends to play with. He loves to go to his "Yiayia and Papou's" house (my parents) to run around their big fenced-in yard...and wow can he run!!!

Bailey is most definitely the epitome of a scent hound...he lets his nose lead him everywhere...like across the kitchen counters!!! :-)

He starts Puppy School next week and we are very excited about that. We figure he should be the star of the class since he is just so darn smart!!! Every day he amazes us with the things he figures out!!! So he should do well. He already knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come, but he has that typical puppy attention span so he does not sit or stay for long! We think puppy school will be perfect for him
at this time of his life.

Bailey is friendly to everyone he meets, and everyone loves him! Who could resist those big brown eyes?!? And he rarely ever barks...we have only heard him bark a handful of times since he came to live with us. We are so excited to have him spend his first Christmas with us. His stocking is already hanging proudly on the mantel with ours!!!

Thank you so much BONES, Renee, and foster mom Lois for everything!!! We feel truly blessed to have this wonderful little dog in our lives!!! We are looking forward to volunteering for BONES after the New Year!!!

Warmest Regards,
Kristen, Kevin, and Bailey DeSimone (12/04)

Merlin

Merlin wanted us to drop you a e-mail and tell you that everything is working out just great! He seems to really enjoy his new servants and his new castle not to mention he has an older dog around for when he feels the urge to drive her crazy chasing her and running away from her! Dusty is trying to figure out if this new buddy was a good thing or what! Merlin is doing great in his training and has not had an accident in the house at all! He seems to love to learn and the treats that come with learning. He is always up for an episode of Law and Order at 7:00 PM each night and will sometimes give you a sliver of the couch to watch it with him if your quiet because he may dose off for a bit. He really enjoyed the Super Bowl or the treats that came with it, not sure which though. He went to the Vets last week for a wellness checkup and really made quite an impression there, the girls there gave him more treats than we have given him since we adopted him! Dr. B thinks he's a great little catch and informed us that we have a keeper! He has given Merlin a clean bill of health. Two weeks ago we had a little snow storm down here in Southeastern Mass. and when Merlin went outside, by the look on his face, I think his thoughts were, these people should have adopted a Husky! We shoveled paths around the yard so he could do his business and you could not see him because the snow was so deep. I do think that he now enjoys the snow judging by how he runs so crazy in it. Well, that's about it, we would like to thank B.O.N.E.S. and all the staff for all they do and for making the adoption of one very good Beagle a simple matter! The staff at B.O.N.E.S. is tops in our book and please continue to give Beagles the love and life they so deserve!

Magic

To our friends at B.O.N.E.S.

We are happy to report that Magic is doing well in his new Forever Home!!! He had the usual adjustment period we all have when coming into new surroundings, but now he treats to whole house as his own, and we welcome that. His favorite places to sleep are at either end of the couch, and at the foot of our bed, as he really loves to be around us. The entire family has been in love with him since the day we met him and he has been a happy Beagle with us as well. He just loves going for rides in the car and walks throughout the neighborhood. We try to take him everywhere. Everyone he has met has been well received by him and he makes quite an impression himself. He also is making good friends with our two cats. He had a little bit of a cold a couple of weeks ago but is back to normal and resuming with his days beautifully. We have included a couple of recent photos of him that we would love to share with all of you. We would also like to thank all of the work that is being done at B.O.N.E.S, because without all that you do, we would not have been blessed with Magic's wonderful presence in our lives and a lot of these wonderful Beagle boys and girls would not have the hope that they now do. Keep up the awesome work, as it is truly Godsent. Also, but certainly not least, we would love to thank Sandy O'Neill for being his foster mom and for showing him the love that she has in her heart and home. He certainly carries that with him in our lives. We are forever grateful to Sandy and to B.O.N.E.S for everything we have in Magic and from this point forward in our lives. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our collective hearts.

Much Love,
The Stradtner Family (5/05)

Murphy

Thanks for asking about Murphy.
He's doing just great. He's getting more self assured every day and, while not totally accepting, shows interest in strangers who we meet when walking. That's quite an improvement for his self confidence. As far as at home he has the run of the house and is quite the Velcro beagle! He's sweet and very well behaved. He does not like being left alone and that's the only time he gets into mischief. We couldn't have asked for a nicer little guy!
Best wishes.

Skylar

Hi there BONES folks. Thanks for finding me such a fun family. Here I am on the top of Mt. Sabatus in Maine. I had so much fun! I wonder what they have in store for me next!

My new parents are Erika and Cyrus Beer. And I want to publicly thank them for adopting me.

Barney
and Hanna

We are sending in this photo of Barney (L) and Hanna (R) to hopefully be posted in Happy Tails. We took in Hanna March of 2004 and after an initial few bumps we finally learned how to be good dog people and Hanna learned all about the good life living inside. We took in Barney October 2004. Being just around a year old he brought a lot of puppy energy into the house. Hanna, approximately 5 years old, has benefited greatly from that puppy energy and has come out of her shell and learned how to be more affectionate and playful. Thanks for bringing Barney and Hanna into our lives. Anthony & Mary-Margaret (3/05)

HAPPY

Dear BONES
Enclosed is a picture of "Happy" who used to be "Beauty" before we adopted her on Febuary 18, 2005. She is adjusting well to her new home and wags her tail all the time. She really enjoys all the pampering we give her!
Thank You,
Barbara Fiorente (4/05)

Dustin

We just wanted to drop you a note to say that Dustin is doing wonderfully. If we could have custom-ordered a dog to our ideal specifications, I don't think we could have gotten a more perfect fit. He is an absolute love, is laid back but playful, stays off the furniture, doesn't bark, is patient with the kids, leash walks well, doesn't chew (except on the bones we give him), and minds well. His favorite place outside is in a pile of leaves by the edge of the woods, and he often walks down to our bedroom indoors and naps in his crate.

. Thanks for the great job you did in preparing him for reintroduction into the human world.
