We love to hear from stories from our adopters!
Each one of these beagles touches our lives in a special way -
hearing the "Happy Tails" makes everything we do worthwhile!
Below are just a few examples of some of our happy beagle tails!

MERCEDES

Thanks for checking in. Miss Maddie is settling into this household very well. And yes, we are keeping her name. She continues to be very sweet and agreeable. Loves to be on someone's lap and loves it when everyone is home-the more people around, the happier she seems to be. Every morning, after we get her out of her crate, she races around the house like a bullet checking to make sure that all of us are still here. She's been great at meeting new people and has also met many of the dogs in the neighborhood and seems to be making new friends all the time. No growling, barking, or howling at anyone-mostly licking everyone's faces. She's very cute. Charles said he sent you an e-mail of the boys with her. Our oldest son, Jamison, has been very active in taking care of her which is most helpful. You can stop by with Allie to visit any time!!.
Take care, Mary

MONTY

Hi everyone this is Monty. (My mom was Kate) I love it here in Bradley Beach. I get lonely sometimes but then my big sisters come and play with me. I love jumping on them, and rolling around on the grass. I especially love getting my belly rubbed. I even got to talk to one of Catherine's friends. I walked around the keyboard, my name kept popping up though and I wasn't doing it. Igot really confused by those sounds so I jumped off and ran behind the
couch, so Catherine plugged in the earphones and I came out again. I getreally scared, really easily. Oh like the garbage truck one time. But I lovewhen it gets dark, that's my favorite time because that is when Meg (11) and Catherine (12, I can't wait until her birthday on 7/9) go around the corner with me and their friends. It took about 5 minutes and they get into teams.
I don't know the rules I just run whenever anybody else does. I love running with Meg, but I can't ever catch her, If you think us beagles are fast, wait until you see Meg! When Meg has the leash I can't catch Catherine, we run around the whole block! I get all out of breath, an my tongue hangs out, and Catherine keeps running! In the end she jumps on to the grass and I "tackle"
her. But I play a thing called "man hunt" and I chase the first person I see. I love going to PetSmart because I climb underneath the shelf, and mommy has to lay down and say "come on Monty, come here" but one time I didn't come out, so Catherine laid down and I come out a little, and Catherine picked me up and pulled me out. Then I got to sit in the cart with Catherine and we were being pushed by Meg, I stuck my head out the side. Whenever I am sleeping in my crate, and I hear the words "cute, small, beagle, like a baby, or as Catherine says "Baby Cake" I immediately wake up and wag my tail. On time my family was finishing dinner and their was a
steak in the garbage can, so I jumped up, grabbed it ran away and Dad and Beth chased me. But I swallowed it fast because Catherine was standing there. Then one time Beth and Catherine were going to go surfing, so their surfboards were out there, and a bag, so being the little nosy beagle I am I went into the bag, something smelled really good, so I took it out and a started
chewing it. About 1 minute later Catherine came out and screamed " MONTY! THAT'S MY BRAND NEW WAX!!!!!!" She wasn't really mad though, she started laughing, and said "Monty, I'm going to keep it." and petted my head. Well I have to go now, bye I hope I get to see my mom or one of my brothers.
ByeBye!

TAWNY

Tawny has settled in nicely here with her two canine siblings and three cat friends. We have had her for about six weeks now and are pleased with how quickly she has acclimated. As a blind beagle, she was a little slower to learn the lay of the land, but she has managed quite well. She is positively one of the happiest, sweetest beagles we have ever met. She is perfectly happy just lying in a lap all day long. She will cuddle with just about anything, cat included. We are both so happy we decided to adopt her as we have both fallen madly in love with her.

Many, many thanks to BONES for taking such good care of her, as she was a tremendous financial obligation due to her numerous medical issues upon entering the rescue. She is happy and healthy now and has been given a clean bill of health from her ophthalmologist after her silicon eye implant surgery. Her foster family certainly went above and beyond working with this wonderful girl who was despondent upon being rescued. Thanks to all who brought her to us.

  SPENCER

My family adopted a wonderful Beagle Boy named Spencer. He was staying with a family in Maine when BONES was called BREW. Spencer just wants to let his foster family know that he is doing great. Things have been tough but he is really helped the family a lot.

Spencer still has seizures from time to time, but they are have not gotten worst. He has gained a little weight but now the summer is here and he goes for longer walks now. (He didn't like the cold much). Now here is a word from Spencer.

Hi everyone,

My mom is wonderful, she has brought me a new toy pig he is purple and squeaks, I still have my hedgehog that she gave me on my trip home, Princess (my sister Cat) tries to take it but I always get it back. I like to run and chase squirrels off the deck, and I even chased off a woodchuck. Mom was so proud of me. I am not sure if because the woodchuck was gone or the fact that I stopped chasing it when she called me.

Mom is going to try to seen a picture of me, so maybe my foster parents can see me. I love my family very much, I am so very happy here.

Love Spencer (and mom of course)
I'll send the picture next time

GYPSY

Angus on the right, Gypsy on the left

I just wanted to drop you a line and a photo so you can all see how happy and healthy Gypsy is since I adopted her in November. Here she is pictured with her boyfriend Angus MacBeagle, a rescue from Texas. We call her Minnie now because she is half his size. I have discovered that although she is 10 years old, she has the energy of a Beagle puppy and - even more surprising - loves to go swimming the lakes and streams nearby. She is happiest covered in mud.

Thanks again for everything.

Hi there my name is Franklin

I am one of Cookies pups. I was formally known as Cooter. Since I left my doggie family I have been living with my new human family that consists of a mom, dad, brother and a sister. I have grown quite a bit since I left cookie I am already 27 lbs. and still growing. When I first came home it was different for me I was scared and then I got used to my new family and it was better. I love to play. I love to take naps. Most of my time is spent playing with the children, we have a big back yard so I have lots of room to run around in. In our leisure time we do a lot of camping. You might find us at Horseneck or Scusset Beach those are our favorite places to camp. I would love to see pictures of my brothers and sister to see how they are growing. Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Bye for now Franklin and family (8/04)

Hello from Schenectady New York
New home of Nina!!

Just wanted to let you know that Nina went on her first camping trip with us (Wells, NY), which happens to be one of Molly's most favorite campgrounds, and she had a great time!! She is a great camper!! Wonder if she ever went before. We have a pop-up and she and Molly had their own bed (table converted to a bed) which left us to OUR own bed!! Molly always wiggled her way up to us before-it was hard to say "no"! With the two of them though, they seemed to be content to sleep together!! We all slept like rocks!! Long walks, fresh air, and great food....we were all happy and dog tired at the end of the day!

Glimmerglass State Park in Cooperstown, NY (home of the great game of Baseball!!) is for the Fourth of July weekend!! Both dogs and humans looking forward to that too!!

Hope you are having a nice summer!!

Love, Bonnie, Joe, Molly and Nina!!!
