Behind the scenes of every successful organization there is a dedicated person helping to keep it running smoothly by taking care of the details. Sarah is one of those people. Apart from being one of B.O.N.E.S.' biggest cheerleaders by writing newsletter articles and raising money, Sarah keeps "The Database" as we lovingly call it. She took over work on the fledgling database back in 2004 and has developed it into a dynamic treasure trove of information about the organization. "The Database" includes B.O.N.E.S.' ever-growing mailing list as well as a complete record of all adopters and donors since the beginning. It demands daily attention from Sarah who is constantly adding names and addresses of people signing up for the mailing list as well as adopters and donors and just about everybody else B.O.N.E.S. comes into contact with. Not only does she have to keep it up to date, she also has to respond to the countless requests for information from it as it is put to good use throughout the organization. The information she keeps is used for, among many other things, newsletter mailings, bi-annual donation drives, volunteer recruitment, government reporting, fundraising, to name a few! Without her accuracy and dedication to keeping it up to date to the hour, well, we don't even want to think about it.
Sarah once told us "it's detailed work but I'm a very organized person so this is the kind of job I love doing." We are grateful she loves doing it because she does it so well!
Sarah, the B.O.N.E.S. Board of Directors is happy to recognize you for the efforts you give every day to the beagles of New England. Thank you for everything you do - we salute you as our Volunteer of the Month for March.
